Artist's Comments

I was watching the original Star Wars and noticed how out of date the costumes and special effects were so I decided to make my own version of Darth Vader. I decided to make him look more like a samurai, since George Lucas based Star Wars on Hidden Fortress (a Japanese movie made in the 50's), and since obviously the wardrobe in Star Wars is Asian Influenced. Oh yeah...my first colored piece!

holy shit man, that's WAAY to cool of a darth vader variation. *adds to faves* you need to make a costume of that for next halloween. =P (Razz)

aw, DAMN, MAN! I would be excited to see that, even in a Star Wars 4-6 series remake. Only the costuming would change. if you've seen the Kung Pow behind-the-scenes thing on the dvd version, then you would know what I would be talking about. You should make a costume of that for halloween next year, too. ^_^

I think this is awesome. I would have liked it more with even less red, though, like only the emblem on his chest. I think he looks more menacing all black.

You probly knew this when you made it, but Vader's armor was in fact based off samurai armor. I think I agree that there is too much red. Maybe the trim on the helmet and the Imperial Insignia would be enough. I would rather not see this in the original movie (love the original), but in it's own little "modern" Star Wars movie, where everything has been updated like this. Though, it is nice to see someone take a creative twist with good ol' Darth like this.

Brilliant. :D Another very well done piece by YOU! And of Star Wars character too which makes me love it even more.

Vader looks meaner here with the red eyes than he does actually. Nice inclusion of the Imperial logo too. :)
